Counsel Bart Vanderstraete of our Brussels office heads a core team which has developed extensive experience in advising clients on transactions in the Middle East. Each team member has lived and worked in the Middle East for considerable time, advising amongst others the largest listed group in the region (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation or SABIC). The lawyers of our Middle East desk in Brussels are therefore truly familiar with the local culture and business environment. This enables them to deliver business friendly transactional advice tailored to the needs and specificities of the Middle East.

Our Brussels team works in close cooperation with the Clifford Chance offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Riyadh. In January 2014, our Riyadh office was the first international law firm to launch a joint mixed Saudi and foreign-lawyer partnership in Saudi Arabia, enabling us to advise on Saudi law. Our presence in the region is a token of Clifford Chance's long term connection with the Gulf region and of our strategy for ambitious growth across the Middle East.
