The Grand Egyptian Museum Scheduled to Open at the End of 2020
10 October 2020
Awaited for nearly two decades, the Grand Egyptian Museum (also called Giza Museum) is about to be brought to fruition and will open its doors on 10 October 2020. The colossal project was launched at the request of the Egyptian Ministry of State for Antiquities and does not only include exhibition galleries, storage facilities and a conference centre but also restaurants and ancillary buildings. What is perhaps worth mentioning is that the highly complex building has been constructed at the foot of Giza pyramids and bears the signature of both the Egyptian company Orascom and Belgian BESIX.
